Anticancer molecules (76) – Molécules anticancéreuses (76) - VINBLASTINE

VINBLASTINE

Name: vinblastine sulfate
Commercial names: Velban, Velsar, Rozevin
Pharmacological class: microtubule inhibitor (alkaloid)
Therapeutic class: antineoplastic
Action: the antitumor activity of vinblastine is thought to be due primarily to inhibition of mitosis at metaphase through its interaction with tubulin. Vinblastine binds to the microtubular proteins of the mitotic spindle, leading to crystallization of the microtubule and mitotic arrest or cell death.

In 2011 vinblastine sulfate is used to treat:

            ● breast cancer that has not gotten better with other treatment;
            ● choriocarcinoma that has not gotten better with other chemotherapy;
            ● Hodgkin lymphoma;
            ● Kaposi sarcoma;
            ● mycosis fungoides;
            ● non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).
            ● testicular cancer.

Nom: sulfate de vinblastine
Noms commerciaux: Velban, Velsar, Rozevin

            ● le cancer du sein qui ne s’est pas amélioré avec un autre traitement ;
            ● le choriocarcinome qui ne s’est pas amélioré avec une chimiothérapie ;
            ● le lymphome hodgkinien ;
            ● le sarcome de Kaposi ;
            ● la mycose fongoïde ;
            ● les lymphomes non hodgkiniens (LNH) ;
            ● le cancer du testicule.
