Focus: ten years of progress in radiation oncology.
Over the last decade, major developments in the field of radiation oncology include the introduction of new imaging modalities into radiotherapy planning, the availability of hardware and software for more precise delivery of radiation dose, the individualization of radiotherapy concepts, e. g. based on microarray data, and the combination of radiotherapy with molecular targeting approaches to overcome the radioresistance of tumor cells.

Au cours de la dernière décennie, les faits marquants dans le domaine de la radio-oncologie incluent: 1) l'introduction de nouvelles méthodes d'imagerie-clé dans la planification de la radiothérapie ; 2) la disponibilité de matériels et logiciels pour la délivrance plus précise de la dose de rayonnement ; 3) l’ individualisation de concepts de radiothérapie, notamment sur base des données de microdamier ; 4) la combinaison de la radiothérapie avec des approches moléculaires ciblées pour vaincre la radiorésistance des cellules tumorales.
